Bye bye plastic -ย

Teens sisters Melati and Isabel Wijsen pushing us to stop the single use ofย  plastic bags. They started campaigning when they were only 10 and 12 years old and were recognised in 2017 (at 14 and 16) two of the Forbes Indonesia 100 Inspiring Women! Their hard work and dedication paid off asย Bali Governor, Wayan Koster, announced in December 2018 a ban on single-use plastic in 2019!

No plastic is used at The Elementum and we are proud to offer eco-friendly solutions to the usual plastic cutleries, straws, bags etc... Read more about it here.

Bali Beans -

Bali Beans is a family business located in Kintamani. They grow organic coffee beans since 1985 along with local farmers organised into a traditional group called "Subak Abian". We at The Elementum have tailor made a special coffee, carefully mixed between two type of beans to find the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity!

4Oceans -

4Oceans story ironically started in Bali while co-founders and surfers Andrew & Alex visited the island of gods for a surf trip and were welcomed instead by the important amount of trash in the ocean. More than the discomfort for surfing, both co-founders quickly discovered that local fishermen were threatened as well with the reduction of marine life and death of fish which feed on micro-plastic.

While going back to home country USA, Alex and Andrew developed the 4Oceans bracelets which are made of recycled materials. For every bracelet purchased, 1 pound (0,450 kg) of trash is removed from the ocean and coastlines.

4Oceans is now implanted in Bali, Denpasar and regularly organise beach clean up days.

This is actual footage from one of 4ocean Bali's daily cleanups.
